School is your job!!!
I use HOGE DOLLARS throughout the year. Students receive these dollars when they are caught doing their job!!! Just like we go to work and get paid for a job well done, so do the fifth graders in 5A. This will create students who want to come to school and do their best everyday!!! However, if they are not doing their job they will lose money. We will be documenting any behavior that is unacceptable at school and if they have their name on the discipline card too many times they will not participate in the semester parties. Hopefully, this won’t be an issue with any student.
At the end the week, they are able to use their salaries to buy things from the class store or save them and buy something at a later date. With the store, the children get a sense that they are at school to do a job.
Anything worth doing is worth doing well!!!
How do I earn Hoge Dollars?
Earn a Dollar
· In the morning you put your things away, sharpen your pencil, turn in homework, sit down have your planner out and signed and you are doing your DOL or are AR reading.
· You return from specials or classes and sit down immediately without talking and are ready for class! If class has not started you are AR reading.
· Earning a dollar for every AR point you receive on your AR test.
· Being an A+ student.
o Doing what you are suppose to be doing!!!
o Giving compliments to someone.
o Doing something nice for someone.
o Being a role model.
o Excellent paper.
o AR Reading
o Sitting nicely in your seat.
o Listening
o Following directions
o Trying your hardest.
Lose a Dollar
· In the morning you are not quiet.
· Your planner is not signed.
· You did not turn in your homework.
· You are not doing what you are suppose to be doing.
· Going to the bathroom or sharpening your pencil when it is not the designated time.
Lose 10 Dollars
· Rudeness
· Disrespect
· Noises
Lose 20 Dollars and Detention
· Fighting, hitting, or doing anyone physical harm
· Cheating
