Explosives

                        This webpage will show you the different explosives the United States army used during WWII.

From mortars to composition B and everything in between this page is about United states army explosives during WWII.

 

 

 

Mortar round- Varies from 60-81mm rounds used from 1909-1948 until new versions came out.

Composition B- Was developed in 1938 and was used as well as dynamite. used to destroy many targets during WWII but very dangerous and cannot be very reliable.

Artillery- Artillery is measured in millimeters and were from 25mm all the way up to 150mm cannons that could be on a ship or drove around by a truck or halftrack and placed where they were needed.

Tank rounds- Round size can be 5mm for the Stuart or the 25mm but for the Sherman it was 40-75mm rounds. Or for mammoth tanks such as the Pershing it was a whopping 105mm main gun.
