Writing

We use the D' nealian form of handwriting. Some fun "hands-on" ways to practice are to use shaving cream, pudding, sand, and play dough.

Our goal in first grade is to write a six sentence paragraph by the end of the year.

We practice the ABCD's of writing all year.

A -- Always start with a capital letter.

B -- Be sure to leave spaces.

C -- Close with an endmark (. ? ! )

D -- Does it make sense?
